Properties of poly(vinyl chloride) plastisol-containing polymers dispersions
Four corn. aq. dispersions of CH2=CH2/CH2=CHOAc copolymers were modified by addn. of PVC plastisol and nonionic surfactants or a polyurethane thickener, studied for stability by sedimentation method, for particle size and Huggins const. by capillary viscosimetry, and for rheol. behaviour, and then used for prepn. of polymer films on a glass substrate. The results were presented as linear equations. The addn. of surfactants or polyurethane thickener resulted in increasing the dispersion stability and decreasing the polymer film hardness. The addn. of PVC plastisol resulted in decreasing the film hardness.
