Study on pre-treatment of flowback water from the hydraulic fracturing of shale gas wellbore
Flowback water from shale gas recovery was pre-treated with KMnO4, NaOH or a corn. PAX 18 coagulant under lab. conditions to remove turbidity and decrease the Fe, Me and org. C contents. Neither NaOH nor the coagulant were efficient enough to be used in industrial practice. The most effective was the oxidn. with KMnO4.
