Testing of selected binders of composite solid propellants
Twenty-two hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene-based binders for propellants were prepd. by addn. of dioctyladipate plasticizer, Fe2O3 nanoparticles, 2,2'-bis(ethylferrocenyl)propane (I) or Cu2Cr2O5 additives and diisocyanate curing agents to 3 rubbers and then studied for viscosity changes during storage at 65 degrees C for 180 min. An increase in the binder viscosity was obsd. esp. when the binders contained additive. The binders based on corn. liq. rubbers were more stable than that based on a rubber produced under lab. conditions.
