Assessment of an application of ashes produced by incineration of poultry industry waste as a rich phosphorus source
Waste feathers, meat-bone meal and poultry litter from a poultry farm were incinerated at 600-900 degrees C for 1 and 3 h in air in elec. furnace. The ashes were studied for chem. compn. by diffractometry and for P content by std. methods. The ashes contained mostly HCl-sol. phosphates applicable for agricultural purposes.
