Acidophilic fungus, Teratosphaeria acidotherma AIU BGA-1, produces multiple forms of intracellular beta-galactosidase

Teratosphaeria acidotherma AIU BGA-1 isolated from an acidic and high temperature hot spring produced four intracellular beta-D-galactosidases with different pH activity profiles, in which three forms were acidophilic and stable from extremely acidic to neutral pH region.
