Study on Ca-based sorbents for CO2 capture from process gases
CO2 was removed from CO2-N-2 mixts. (CO2 content 50% and 67%) by sorption on calcined dolomite and limestone at 650 degrees C. The resulting carbonates were calcined at 880-920 C in N-2 and recycled to the sorption steps (10 cycles). The limestone was better in CO2 capture in Ca-looping but dolomite showed better resistance to sintering and was recommended to the process.
