Cosensitization of Cyclometalated Ruthenium Complex and Organic Dyes for High-efficiency Dye-sensitized Solar Cells
Cosensitization of nanocrystalline TiO2 film with the cyclometalated ruthenium complex (FT89) and organic dyes (MK-45 and MK-111) improves the light-harvesting efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells. The anchor group of the organic dyes has a large influence on the effective cosensitization. MK-45 and MK-111 can work not only as a sensitizer but also as a coadosorbent for FT89. The significant improvement in the conversion efficiency was obtained by cosensitization with FT89 and MK-111, and an efficiency of 11.1% was attained under 100 mW cm(-2) of AM1.5G filtered light.
