Enhanced Intersystem Crossing Due to Long-range Exchange Interaction in Porphyrin Heterodimers: Dependence of Paramagnetic Species
Dependence on paramagnetic species of long-range dynamics was studied by comparing (VO)-O-IV and copper(II) ions in porphyrin heterodimers. Enhanced intersystem crossing rates induced by a remote unpaired electron are correlated with the strength of exchange coupling between the unpaired electron and the neighboring it system but not the paramagnetic species itself.
