The rotational barrier for ClOOCl has been determined. The barrier for the cis and trans configurations is 8.8 kcal mol(-1) and 4.9 kcal mol(-1), respectively. This is in disagreement with the experimental result of Birk et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 91, 6588 (1989)] and the discrepancy is discussed.
