Storage capacity of carbon dioxide hydrates in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and tetrahydrofuran (THF)
he storage capacity, induction time and induction temperature of CO2 hydrates were investigated on pure water, SDS solutions, THF solutions and mixtures of THF and SDS. SDS did not present significant effect on increasing storage capacity, as it is usual to methane hydrates. However, mixtures of SDS and THF presented maximum % theoretical, 121( +/- 12) % and reduction of temperature and time for induction, due to a synergistic effect. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
