AFTER a dozen years of separation, two pieces of Sartomer that had been split apart were rejoined on February 1, with about 85% of the reunited company coming from the Total side and 15% from the Elf Atochem side. The bigger piece journeyed through years of ownership changes, including a stint as a leveraged buyout. Nonetheless, the company has "kept an experienced management team in place through many ownership changes," says Jack Potts, senior vice president, Sales, Marketing and Business Management, a 25-plus year veteran on that team. Potts reports to the president of Sartomer, Nick Trainer, who reports directly to Paris.
