Nanocomposite Ni/TiO2-materials for hydrogen generation systems
The mesoporous nickel-containing TiO2 (anatase) nanocomposites with specific surface area of 94 m(2) g(-1), pore volume 0.21 cm(3) g(-1), pore diameter 3.2 nm and crystallite size within 9-10 nm, were prepared. Testing of the mesoporous nickel-containing nanocomposites as materials for proton pump electrodes has shown that their electrical characteristics are comparable to those of the industrial nickel-molybdenum-alumina catalyst. It was demonstrated that the mesoporous structure of TiO2 matrix and nickel content in the sample influence the catalytic activity of Ni/TiO2 material. The produced mesoporous nickel-containing TiO2 nanocomposites are promising as materials for high-temperature fuel cell electrodes, as well as catalysts of hydrogen cleavage in hydrogenation processes.
