Chemoselective hydrogenation of olefinic double bonds in the presence of various functional groups using layered double hydroxides supported nanopalladium (LDH-Pd-0) catalyst is described. LDH-Pd-0 was recovered quantitatively by simple filtration and reused several times with consistent activity and selectivity. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
