Solvent-Extraction Equilibrium of Gallium from Hydrochloric-Acid Solutions by Amberlite La-2
The extraction of Ga(III) from chloride solutions by Amberlite LA-2 dissolved in kerosene at 25-degrees-C has been investigated. The effects of the concentrations of gallium, chloride and Amberlite LA-2, and pH, on the equilibrium are reported. Extracted complexes are formulated using a slope analysis of the equilibrium data. All gallium was back-extracted from the loaded organic phase with water.
