Excess Molar Volumes and Apparent Molar Volumes of (Xh(CH2)VO(CH2)2O(CH2)2Oh+(1-X)H2O) at the Temperature 298.15-K
The excess molar volumes of (xH(CH2)vO(CH2)2O(CH2)2OH + (1 - x)H2O for v = 1, 2, and 4 have been measured as a function of composition at the temperature 298.15 K. The measurements were made with a continuous-dilution dilatometer. The excess volumes are all negative over the whole composition range. Apparent molar volumes of components have been calculated from these results. The values of these two properties are discussed in terms of interactions of water with an amphiphilic molecule.
