Excess Molar Volumes of (Xch(3)(CH2)(3)Oh+(1-X)H(CH2)(V)(Och2Ch2)(3)Oh) (V=1,2, and 4) at the Temperature 298.15 K
The excess molar volumes V-m(E) of {xCH(3)(CH2)(3)OH + (1 - x)H(CH2),(OCH2CH2)(3)OH} for nu = 1, 2, and 4 were determined as a function of mole fraction x using a continuous-dilution dilatometer at the temperature 298.15 K. The V-m(E) values decreased as the alkyl chain length of the alkoxyethanol increased. Excess molar volumes were negative over the whole mole fraction range for the systems nu = 2 and nu = 4, and positive for nu = 1. The behaviour of V-m(E) With composition and the number of carbon atoms in the aliphatic chain of the alkoxyethanol is discussed, along with the V(m)(E)s for the other two homologous series reported in the literature.
