Microstructure of polycrystalline natural samples from the peak profile analysis of diffraction data
The present paper deals with the evaluation of the micro-structural arrangement in some natural magnetite samples. The approach is presented in order to demonstrate the general applicability of the adopted method and the related steps. The basic concepts are funded on the variation of variance method and the use of a Williamson-Hall like plot. The evaluation of the instrument contribution and the comparison of the various diffraction patterns are implemented by using the DIM method. The micro-structural evaluation is carried out in compliance with the general rules and principles of the diffraction physics and crystallographic symmetries.
