Excess Molar Enthalpies of Mixtures of Pyrrolidin-2-One with Methanol, or Ethanol, or Propan-1-Ol, or Butan-1-Ol, or Pentan-1-Ol at the Temperature 303.15 K
The excess molar enthalpies H-m(E) have been measured for mixtures of pyrrolidin-2-one with methanol, or ethanol, or propan-1-ol, or butan-1-ol, or pentan-1-ol over the whole composition range at T = 303.15 K. The H-m(E) values are positive for all the mixtures over the whole mole fraction range except for methanol which exhibits a sigmoid curve with a maximum at low mole fraction of pyrrolidin-2-one. The values of H-m(E) increase in the order methanol < ethanol < propanol < butanol < pentanol. The excess partial molar enthalpies of the components have also been evaluated. The results are interpreted in terms of specific interactions.
