The compound Li2PdO3 has been synthesised uder oxygen pressure. The crystal structure of this palladate was investigated using X-ray powder diffraction and electron microscopy. Li2PdO3 crystallises with the Li5ReO6-type structure in the C2/m space group with a = 5.1207(6), b = 8.844(1), c = 5.1095(3)Angstrom and beta = 109.559(8)degrees. 2D Disorder in Li2PdO3 induces Warren effect on the diffraction peaks in the c direction.
