Solubilities of L-aspartic, DL-aspartic, DL-glutamic, p-hydroxybenzoic, o-anistic, p-anisic, and itaconic acids in water from T = 278 K to T = 345 K
Solubilities of L-aspartic, DL-aspartic, DL-glutaric, p-hydroxybenzoic, o-anisic, p-anisic, and itaconic acids in water were determined in the temperature range 278 to 345 K. From these solubilities the apparent molar enthalpies of solution at T = 298.15 K were derived, and these are : Delta(sol)H(m)(L-C4H7O4N, m = 0.0379 mol . kg(-1)) = 26.7 kJ . mol(-1); Delta(sol)H(m)(DL-C4H7O4N, m = 0.0590 mol . kg(-1)) = 30.8 kJ . mol(-1); Delta(sol)H(m)(DL-C5H9O4N, m = 0.0965 mol . kg(-1)) = 27.3 kJ . mol(-1); Delta(sol)H(m)(p-C7H6O3, m = 0.0488 mol . kg(-1)) = 41.9 kJ . mol(-1); Delta(sol)H(m)(o-C8H8O3, m = 0.0197 mol . kg(-1)) = 28.5 kJ . mol(-1); Delta(sol)H(m)(p-C8H8O3, m = 0.00169 mol . kg(-1)) = 28.1 kJ . mol(-1); and Delta(sol)H(m)(C5H6O4, m = 0.7605 mol . kg(-1)) = 33.7 kJ . mol(-1).
