Light emission from silicon nanocrystals
A brief review about studies of strong light emission from porous silicon and silicon nanocrystals is given. The inconsistency of Canham model with some of experimental results is shown. A new model is proposed which is based on Auger recombination mechanism. The consistency of this model with experimental data is discussed.
