Recovery associated with cell structure evolution in an Al-0.53wt%Cu-1.0wt%Si alloy at low temperatures
Recovery of an Al-0.53wt%Cu-1.0wt%Si alloy was investigated using yield stress measurements, hardness tests and transmission electron microscopy. By utilizing Nes's analysis [1] and based on our observations of the evolution of the dislocation cell structures and associated strengthening of the boundaries, a model was developed that describes the relationship between recovery and the evolution of the dislocation structures.
