Texture development in Zn-1.1%Al alloy under strong magnetic field
Zn-1.1%Al alloy sheet having a strong crystallographic texture was annealed in a high magnetic field of 32 T. Depending on the orientation to the field the texture components strengthened, retained their original intensity or disappeared. The obtained results are interpreted in terms of selective grain growth under the driving force due to the anisotropy of the diamagnetic susceptibility of Zn.
