Texture in piezoelectric titanates
Research on textures in piezoelectric materials is critical to understanding the effects of domain and crystallite orientations on dielectric and piezoelectric properties. We have investigated domain textures in tetragonal piezoelectrics and crystal orientations in materials with orthorhombic symmetry. The high anisotropies of these materials are demonstrated in faceting behavior, anisotropic grain growth as well as mechanical, electrical and electromechanical properties. In this paper we show results on domain and crystallite textures in piezoelectrics obtained using an area detector.
