Preparation of flier-plate materials with graded impedance used for hypervelocity launching
The main aim of the present paper is to prepare a kind of flier-plate materials with graded impedance which can be used for hypervelocity launching. By using diffusion welding method, a 93W/Cu/Ti/Al/Mg system flier-plate material with high parallelism, planeness, densification and a parabolic distribution of impedance along the thickness direction, is prepared. The dynamic loading experimental results show that quasi-isentropic compression energy waves, which have a small initial velocity jump followed by a stepwise-rising front, can be generated by the prepared flier-plate materials. Then on the basis of quasi-isentropic compression, such flier-plate materials with graded impedance successfully drive a projectile material to hypervelocities as 10.02km/s.
