An examination of the design of a kW-range 3-stage cascade-type thermoelectric power generation device composed of HB-type thermoelectric modules
A practical thermoelectric power generation device heated by solar energy is designed and the possibility of manufacture is examined. The device is composed of a solar collector, a heliostat, a kW-range 3-stage cascade-type thermoelectric module and a heat radiator of cubic box type, which is designed for both ground and space use. There are used 3 kinds of modules composed of hamburger (HB)-type thermoelectric elements of GeSi, PbTe and (Bi,Sb)(2)(Te,Se)(3) and each module has 850 similar to 900 elements. The solar collector is able to supply either 7.6 kW beat on the ground or 13.3 kW heat in the space.
