Behaviour of ordinary dislocations in crept TiAl alloys at high temperatures
Creep of TiAl alloys at 750degreesC and 150 MPa is studied by conventional tests and trough the measurement of activation parameters. The crept specimens are further analyzed by electron microscopy. It is found that the deformation occurs by movement of ordinary dislocations and that these dislocations are able to move by glide or by climb. The role of these two deformation modes is finally discussed.
