As a versatile fabrication process for titanium and aluminum alloys, SPF/DB offers a real potential for revolutionizing the design of aerospace component. In this paper, SPF/DB applications in aerospace industry, techno-economic benefits of the process, as well as SPF/DB research and development at BAMTRI are reviewed. The current trends and the challenges for the process developments are discussed.
