recent results on nucleation of recrystallization are reported. This includes previously published data, obtained by EBSP and new results obtained by the 3 dimensional X-ray diffraction method. Focus is on the orientation relationship between nuclei and parent grains. It is demonstrated that nuclei may well form with orientations different from their parent grains.
