Effect of Catalytic Activity on Promotor Doped Raney Nickel
The effects of catalytic activities on Raney nickel containing various transition metals as promotor were studied. Also the variation of a particle size distribution, specific surface area and residual aluminum content which can affect the catalytic properties of Raney nickel were investigated. With the addition of promotors, the particle size was diminished from 13.92 ㎛ to 9.77 ㎛ and the decrease of the particle size has contributed to the enlargement of specific surface area. The current density of hydrogen electrode manufactured with promotor doped Raney nickel catalyst in alkaline solution was increased in the order of Cr2was obtained when 120 mg/cm2of catalyst was loaded in the electrode.
