Model-Independent Aspects of Field-Flow Fractionation Theory
The mean-residence-time theorem allows model-independent results to be obtained fur chromatographic retention times. This method is applied here to field-flow fractionation. Theoretical results are derived and calculations of concentration profiles near the accumulating wall and separation factors are presented for conditions typical of field-flow fractionation.
