Properties of composite aqueous dispersion of poly(vinyl chloride) plastisol with poly(vinyl acetate)
Com. poly(winyl chloride) was plastified with Bu-2 phthalate, dispersed in H2O and modified by addn. of corn. surfactants and thickeners. The dispersions were studied for viscosity, pseudoplasticity index and activation energy of viscous flow. The addn. of water resulted in phase inversion. The addn. of surfactants and thickeners, esp. poly(vinyl alc.), resulted in increasing the dispersion stability. The dispersions were recommended as dip paints.
