Three ashes from industrial fluidized bed incineration of sewage sludge were leached with H3PO4 and HNO3 solns. for 120 min to recover P and heavy metals. HNO3 was more efficient than H3PO4 in leaching P2O5 (yield 80-86%). Good recovery of Cr (96.5%) and Mg (75.9-78.5%) was also achieved.
