Poly[N-(2-aminoethyl)acrylamido]trimethyI ammonium halide resin was developed as new solid-liquid phase transfer catalyst. This quaternized polyacrylamide catalyzed regioselective ring opening of epoxide by nitrite anion (NO 2 to give 2-nitroalcohols in high yield under mild conditions. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
