This manuscript describes the synthesis and the catalysis of new recyclable polymer-supported Pd catalysts, applicable to Mizoroki-Heck coupling. The prepolymers bearing azine structures as the ligation groups were prepared via the reaction of poly(methyl vinyl ketone) and hydrazine to produce a polymer bearing hydrazone moieties followed by its reaction with aromatic aldehydes. The activities of the catalysts were higher as the decrease of the electron densities of the azine moieties. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
