The experimental validation of a comprehensive unified model for optics and heat transfer in line-axis solar energy systems
Temperature measurements for line-axis reverse flat plate absorber compound parabolic concentrating solar energy collectors under a simulated solar light source provide a validation of a model for both optics and heat transfer. In general, excellent agrement was demonstrated with predicted temperatures bring within 2 degreesC of those measured. Details of the simulation method adopted and a simple technique employed to reduce the computer time required for the simulations are presented.
