Palladium nanoparticles supported on reduced graphene oxide: Facile synthesis and highly efficient electrocatalytic performance for methanol oxidation
Numerous well-dispersed palladium nanoparticles with a diameter of around 5 nm were decorated on reduced graphene oxide sheets by a facile in-situ reduction where bivalent tin ions were used as reducing agent, in order to fabricate electrocatalyst for methanol oxidation. The electrochemical performance indicates that the as-prepared nanocomposites exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity and superior stability toward methanol oxidation reaction. Graphene sheets with metal nanoparticles supported on the surface, which can maintain high electrochemically active surface area, hold a broad prospect in fuel cells. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V.
