Frequency Dispersion of Harmonic Components of the Current of an Electrode Process
A model nonlinear electrical network can be used to simulate an electrode process occurring under activation control conditions. It has been shown that the harmonic components of the current exhibit a frequency dispersion related to the course of a non-faradaic process and the effect of the electrolyte resistance. Analysis of the harmonic components over a wide range of frequencies allows evaluation of the kinetics and mechanism of an electrode process. It also allows determination of the frequency range in which the harmonic components of a current characterizing the faradaic process can be measured.
