Stress Corrosion Cracking of Elbow Bends
We have studied stress corrosion cracking for 20CrNiMo alloy in an acid environment. We determined the threshold stress intensity factor KISCC for stress corrosion cracking of this alloy. This factor was used to determine the critical crack dimensions of an elbow bend, and this value was used as a criterion for safe service life of an elbow bend in a pipeline.
