Photoresponsive Modulation of Mass Transfer through Spiropyran-grafted Anodized Aluminum Oxide Membrane
Photoresponsive anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane was prepared through mussel-inspired functionalization of poly(ethylene glycol) conjugated with both spiropyran and catechol moieties. Reversible modulation of water-transfer rate through spiropyran-enriched AAO membrane was demonstrated along with photoisomerization of spiropyran groups on the membrane through "wettability"-controlled mechanism.
