Spatially Controlled Initiation-Termination of Supramolecular Polymerization: Creation of End-capped Nanofiber with Discrete Length in Microflow
We demonstrate that the kinetics of supramolecular polymerization of TPPS, a type of self-assembling porphyrins, is controllable in a designed microflow space through regulation of the flow distance of its polymerizing spices, similar to cutting out snapshots of the growing polymer chains. The obtained fibers were thereby end-capped with stopper molecules, affording size-regulated supramolecular polymers accordingly.
