Modeling of the cathode layer in the case of zinc electrolysis from aminoacetate electrolyte
The paper presents a calculation of ionic species of an aminoacetate electrolyte for zinc plating on the bases of electrolyte composition and properties. The equilibrium concentrations of complex species on the cathode surface during electrolysis have been calculated from steady-state diffusion equations and chemical reaction equations. The calculated pH values on the electrode surface and those measured experimentally using a glass microelectrode are in good agreement.
