Investigation of Ethane Hydrate Formation during Isobaric and Isothermal Conditions
In this work, we studied the mass transfer phenomenon of ethane during hydrate formation. Fifteen different tests were conducted over temperature range of (273.15 to 282.15) K and three levels of pressure at each temperature. A mass transfer approach has been consumed and was evaluated with experiments. We predicted the mass transfer coefficients of the gasliquid interface based on experimental data. The model predicts that the rate of ethane gas consumption during growth is constant against time. This prediction was examined by the means of experiment. In addition, it was observed that the resistance at the gasliquid interface increases with an increase in operating pressure and temperature.
