6Cyclic voltammetry was applied for the first studies to detect 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) electrochemically in the gaseous phase. Up to now the detection of 2,4,6-TNT in the gaseous phase is problematic because of the small vapour pressure of 7 ppb at room temperature. These preliminary results show for the first time the possibility of detecting substances with small vapour pressures using cyclic voltammetry at microelectrodes.
