Characterization of a new spinel Li-Cr-Mn-O for secondary lithium batteries
A new chromium-substituted Li2O-yMnO(2) (y = 4) spinel phase has been prepared at low temperature using a sol-gel process. The electrochemical behavior of the obtained material is investigated in liquid-electrolyte lithium cells. This material presents a plateau at around 3 V versus Li of 140 mAh g(-1) and fairly good cycle ability.
