Chemical treatment of Ti-6Al-7Nb elements produced by powder-bed selective laser melting
Monolithic and spatial samples of Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy were prepd. by powder-bed selective laser melting and treated in HF and HF+HNO3 baths to improve surface quality and remove loose powder particles trapped in the porous structure of the samples. The HF+HNO3-contg. bath was more efficient (better surface quality, shorter treatment time)than the HF - contg. one.
