Tung oil as a substrate for synthesis of nutraceutics containing new bioactive lipoamino acids
Tung oil acids (mainly alpha-elostearic acid) were esterified with N-hydroxysuccinimide and then converted to resp. imides in reactions with serine, arginine and aspargine. The reaction products were sepd. by high-performance liq. chromatog. and identified by mass spectroscopy as resp. lipoamino derivatives of alpha-elostearic, linoleic, palmitic, 9,10,13-trihydroxy-11-octadecanoic, stearic and isomeric eicosenoic acids.
