Sorption of arsenates(III) and (V) on a hybrid iron and manganese oxides polymer-containing made by modification of a strong-base anion exchanger
A com. strong-base macroporous anion exchanger was modified with Fe and Mn oxides, characterized by detn. of the sp. surface area and structure (scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometry) and used for removal of arsenates(111) and (V) from their aq. solns. The hybrid polymer produced 'showed a high sorption capacity toward As(III) and As(V) (resp. 40.2 and 86.5 mg/g) and was recommended for practical use also in sulfates, chlorides and bicarbonates-contg. natural waters.
