Comparison of Regeneration Efficiency of Strong Base Anion Exchangers Fouled by Iron and Humic Acids
The main aim of this work was the comparison of the efficiencies of several regeneration techniques of strong base anion exchangers fouled by iron and humic acids during the insufficient pre-treatment in specific water purification system. Another goal was the removal of deposits from the surfaces of employed ion exchange resins. In order to achieve these objectives, several regeneration techniques were used. The efficiency of every regeneration method was evaluated by means of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The surface of ion exchangers was characterized by SEM/EDX analysis (Scanning Electron Microscope/ Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) in order to obtain information about morphology and elemental composition.
