Versatic Functional Tert-Carboxylic Acids as Metal Extractive Agents
Versatic alpha-branched tert-carboxylic acids containing C(O)NHNH2, C(O)NHNHC(O), and C(O)NHN(CH3)(2) hydrazide groups instead of carboxylic group are synthesized, with subsequent investigation in their physico-chemical, complexing, and extractive properties. While retaining valuable properties inherent to Versatic acids (chemical stability, good compatibility with solvents), functional reagents become selective reagents fit to resolve tasks of current importance in hydrometallurgy.
